Hypovitaminosis D is Associated with the Components of Metabolic Syndrome in Brazilian Women
نویسندگان
چکیده
Low vitamin D status and oxidative/nitrosative stress have been recognized as risk factor for chronic diseases such metabolic syndrome (MetS). The objective of this study was to evaluate the markers association with hypovitaminoses in Brazilian women MetS. following included 88 MetS evaluated biomarkers (total cholesterol, LDL-cholesterol, HDL-cholesterol triglycerides, uric acid, plasma glucose, insulin), (hidroperoxides-CL-LOOH, carbonyl protein, nitric oxide metabolites-NOx, sulfhydryl groups-SH proteins, total radical-trapping antioxidant parameter-TRAP, serum activity PON1).

Vitamin D Deficiency is Associated with the Metabolic Syndrome in Subjects with Type 2 Diabetes
Background and Objectives: There is convincing evidence that subjects concomitantly affected by type 2 diabetes (T2D) and metabolic syndrome (MeS) are at greater risk for cardiovascular disease (CVD). Many metabolic derangements in T2D might be attributed to poor vitamin D status. The purpose of this study was to investigate the associations among vitamin D status, MeS and glycemic status in su...
متن کاملHypovitaminosis D is Independently Associated with Metabolic Syndrome in Obese Patients
BACKGROUND Metabolic syndrome (MS) and hypovitaminosis D represent two of the most diffuse condition worldwide, reaching pandemic proportions in industrialized countries, and are both strongly associated with obesity. This study set out to evaluate the presence of an independent association between hypovitaminosis D and MS in an adult population of obese subjects with/without MS. METHODS We r...

متن کاملThe Association of Hypovitaminosis D with the Metabolic Syndrome Is Independent of the Degree of Obesity
Background. It remains uncertain whether the metabolic syndrome (MS) or insulin resistance contribute to the association between vitamin D deficiency and obesity. Methods. We conducted a cross-sectional survey of 343 subjects who were overweight or obese. We analyzed anthropometric data and the presence or absence of MS. Additionally, we determined 25-hydroxyvitamin D (25OHD) and insulin concen...
